FC 33 Palatine Families of NY with Henry Z Jones

The Palatine Families of New York with Henry Z. Jones on Fieldstone CommonFollowing are some items that were mentioned during the 4 April 2013 Fieldstone Common interview with Henry Z. Jones, author of The Palatine Families of New York and Psychic Roots.

The Palatine Families of New York, published by Picton Press, is available for purchase from major books sellers online as well as directly from Henry Z. Jones.

The Palatines were a group of people who left what is now Germany in the early 1700s on route to the American colonies via London. Some of the Palatines ended up settling in Ireland while others made it to New York in 1710.

Hank Jones explained that Palatine in this time period refers to German speaking from anywhere and not necessarily specifically to the Palatine region.

Hank is an FASG – Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists. He was inducted in 1986. This honor distinguishes only 50 genealogists at any given time and it is conferred for life.  If you’d like more information on the American Society of Genealogists please check out their website at FASG.org.

View his speaking profile and search (enter his name) for upcoming talks. Hank will be giving four talks at the Palatines to American National Conference in Albany, New York on June 22, 2013.
